{"id":6335,"date":"2017-04-25T14:04:48","date_gmt":"2017-04-25T19:04:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sevencycles.com\/blog\/?p=6335"},"modified":"2025-11-05T18:04:47","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T23:04:47","slug":"metal-sculpture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sevencycles.com\/7\/metal-sculpture\/","title":{"rendered":"Metal Sculpture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We received this photo from our friend Giovanni, something of a cycling mystic and guru, who lives in Seattle, a frequent visitor at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cascadebicyclestudio.com\/\">Cascade Bicycle Studio<\/a>, with whom we&#8217;ve built hundreds of frames, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/sevencycles.com\/bikes\/axiom-sl.php\">Axiom SL<\/a> in this photo.<\/p>\n<p>It reminded us that <a href=\"https:\/\/sevencycles.com\/people\/rob-vandermark.php\">Rob V<\/a>, our own mystic and founder, was in art school studying metal sculpture when <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Merlin_(bicycles)\">Merlin Metalworks<\/a> plucked him from academia and turned him into a bike builder, designer, and visionary (don&#8217;t tell him we called him a visionary).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6336\" src=\"https:\/\/sevencycles.com\/7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170424_165508_207.jpg\" alt=\"Seven with sculptures\" width=\"4032\" height=\"2153\"><\/p>\n<p>This is at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ballardlocks.org\/\">Hiram M.
