It's not all rainbows and cotton candy, though. It's not an easy job. You're on your feet all day. You're doing detailed, precise work. You may be dirty at the end of the day. Your hands will get calloused over time. You have the pressure of delivering a bike frame for a customer that expects perfection. If these challenges have you smiling and excited, you should definitely read the job description and apply for our framebuilder job.
Framebuilders at Seven quickly become some of the best fabricators in the world. Within three years, you will have built more custom frames than most builders craft in a lifetime. Your framebuilding value will be second to none.
You work with the most experienced team in the industry. You'll learn from a builder mentor team with more than 150 years of combined framebuilding experience. Your learning opportunity is unlike any other in the industry.
Seven's framebuilder job is to take raw materials of titanium and carbon fiber and transform them into something that changes lives: A perfect handmade frame made for one specific person. There are very few jobs on the planet that can have such a positive impact on another person. It may sound rather highfalutin, but we've heard from riders again and again that it's true; the right bike can change a life. This is our mission. As a Seven framebuilder, you literally bring that mission into the physical world.
You work with hand files, hand drills, and micrometers all day. We often use small, simple tools to do big complex things.
Every frameset we build begins as a blank slate. Each Seven bike is custom-designed for a specific rider. We don't build batches. You work on one bike at a time. You take the idea of the bike and make it real. You cut the tubing shape the tubing and perform a hundred other operations to prepare the frameset for our world-class welding team. Once they've locked the pieces in place, you pick up the frame on the other end, attending to all the final details to ensure it's as beautiful as it is functional.
Once you graduate from apprenticeship and begin building complete frames, you will make fully customized bicycle frames every day. It's the closest thing to perfection that the customer will ever ride. Tomorrow you do the same thing again.
