Seven Cycles Direct Sales Specialist

Seven works with two sales channels and two sales roles: one team works with bike retailers and another team works directly with riders from around the world.

If you like talking about great bikes all day, helping cyclists ride happier, being a technical expert and advisor, and providing what riders want or need, the role of Direct Sales at Seven might be your perfect vocation.


Direct Sales Role Summary

Seven's sales roles are unique in the bike industry because every order is custom-designed one at a time. You're not selling something in a box from our inventory; you are selling the idea of the rider's dream bike.

It's a fun job because you play a number of roles, including consultant, guide, salesperson, and partner with the customer throughout the process. You basically get to co-design bikes every day. What could be cooler than that?

Our sales team works with an extremely diverse ridership. From gravel bikes, road racers, mountain bikers, bikepackers, fat bikers, and more, you get to work on nearly all things cycling. If that's not enough, Sevens are ridden all around the world.

Our team's primary customer communication tool is email, in part because this ensures we document all the bike's unique features, options, and components. Having said that, phone sessions with customers are also essential and common.

Direct Sales Responsibilities
  • Work with customers to help them determine their perfect Seven bike model, features, options, and parts kit.
  • Manage each customer's bike order and shepherd it from initial conversation through to completed shippable bike.
  • Manage all incoming customer interest that falls outside of our retailers' territories.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction during the selling process, the bike fabrication steps, and right after the bike has been delivered.
  • Commitment to developing capabilities and skills for becoming a better salesperson and teammate.
  • Professionalism: You understand what it means when your team and customers count on you. You are dependable. You do what you say you'll do. You communicate clearly.
  • Work style:
    • Our sales team members work primarily autonomously but also as part of a four-person group.
    • Our sales team works alongside — and takes direction from — Seven's sales director to implement and make successful our sales plans, goals, and messaging.

Required Experience
  • A track record of selling sophisticated high-end products to end users in a retail or online setting.
  • You love cycling and have a particular interest in high-end performance products.
  • Extremely competent and accurate written communications.

Ideal Qualifications
  • An undergraduate degree relevant to the sales profession.
  • You've sold high-end bicycles and components at the retail level or as a supplier or distributor.
  • You have managed teams and were responsible for their performance.
  • You are a tech-savvy bike geek with an innate interest in keeping up on meaningful industry innovations and trends.

Compensation: A competitive wage and benefits package relative to other small businesses. This role's salary is determined by your experience level and the skill set you bring to Seven.
