U.S. Built Custom Bicycles in Titanium and Titanium-Carbon Mix
The MantaRay GRC Series is a completely new kind of gravel performance bike. It solves some of the most enduring challenges for gravel bikes: Be both fast and smooth. Climb fast yet descend with confidence. Win town line sprints and be comfortable throughout 200-mile gravel races. The MantaRay GRC is the first bike to reconcile those competing interests.
Four years ago, we threw out the gravel bike rule book and started with a clean tome. The MantaRay is one of the results.
Handmade, built-to-order, competition-ready. The MantaRay offers more performance than any bike we've offered at this price. Check out the details of the $6,695 MantaRay GRC-1

Technical improvements are meaningless if they don't have measurable positive impacts on your riding experience. Here are a few concrete rider benefits resulting from the way Seven employs our MantaRay improvements.
Design Element | Description | Some Riding Benefits |
---|---|---|
FlowState Rear Triangle | This is the heart of the MantaRay's namesake. The bike flows over roots and rocks and eats up trail detritus and chatter. The rear triangle acts like a parallelogram — almost like rear suspension, but visibly static. | Improved climbing: FlowState allows more vertical movement. While climbing, this means keeping the rear wheel on the ground. Better connection to the terrain means easier smoother, climbing. |
Improved tire traction: FlowState, in combination with our Moto Stays, keeps the rear wheel on the ground in more challenging situations. You get more traction and acceleration. Less slip and slide. | ||
Improved bike control: Keeping the wheel on the ground is the first step of bike control. No rigid frame provides stickier connection between tire and terrain. | ||
Smoother ride: The wheel has more vertical travel and, therefore, more dampening than any other unsuspended frame due to the FlowState design. | ||
Longer rides just got easier: FlowState better protects your body from rock and root shock and from constant micro-vibration. This chatter adds up mile after mile. FlowState cuts these energy-sapping distractions substantially. | ||
Body English: FlowState can be defined as intuitive body English. You'll feel like you have an experienced dance partner. The bike connects with — and responds to — your direction and input. | ||
Improved control at the edges: FlowState and our Moto Stays help keep the tire in contact with the ground. The stickier the contact, the more control you have — even at the edges of control. | ||
Compact Chassis | The bottom bracket area is reinforced with a third tube, creating a compact triangle at the BB area. This stiffens the drivetrain locally. The system also employs an oversized T47 bottom bracket for maximum drivetrain power transfer. | Improved acceleration: Stiffness improves watts transfer. The MantaRay's Compact Chassis provides the stiffest localized titanium bottom bracket area of any gravel bike. |
Contradiction of stiff and plush: The Compact Chassis is one of the few times when increased stiffness does not mean increased harshness. The Compact part of the design means it's stiffer locally to the bottom bracket, not the entire frame. MantaRay gives you stiff and plush as one. | ||
Dual-Diameter Chainstays | We use our standard 7/8" diameter chainstay for the driveside of the frame; some would call this oversized, but it is what Seven typically uses. We use a one-inch diameter for the non-driveside of the frame. This unique approach provides numerous benefits. | 30% stiffer: This is a significant boost. With no tradeoffs. |
Plenty of tire clearance and chainring space: Our unique Dual design and extremely manipulated stays provide everything good with no tradeoff in performance. | ||
Standard chainstay length: By using the one-inch stay on the non-drive only, we keep our standard performance geometry while gaining the benefit of a third more stiffness. | ||
Rider Ready Designs | Seven's unique geometry designs provide the best-riding gravel bike you'll ever own. Forget about fit for a moment. Our 12 frameset sizes provide considerable benefits beyond the best fit available. And multiply this by three due to our handling and performance profiles — Balanced Performance, Distance Performance, and Competition Performance — and you've got opportunities for perfection like never before. | Size-specific performance: Every Rider Ready frameset size has a distinct tubeset and recommended ride weight range — not too harsh and not too soft — providing the best performance possible. Research stock bike weight limits, and you'll understand how unique this is. |
Handling and performance: The MantaRay is available in three performance and handling profiles: Balanced Performance, Distance Performance, and Competition Performance. Not only will the bike fit significantly better, but with three distinct handling options, you'll get the best bike ever. | ||
Seven's Weight Rated designs: Every Rider Ready size has a distinct recommended rider weight range — not too harsh and not too soft — providing the best performance and ride feel possible. | ||
SevenEx Fit | Seven's Rider Ready design system provides each rider seven potential sizes to choose from — as opposed to only one for popular stock bikes. | The best fit, period: You have an average of seven fits to choose from. How? We have 12 Rider Ready sizes in one-centimeter increments; this is ~2.2x more than popular carbon bikes. Next, Rider Ready has three fit profiles you can choose from. ~2.2 x 3 = ~7. |
Better handling: By having fine increments in sizing, your center of gravity and weight distribution between the wheels is significantly better. These improvements make a substantial performance difference in the way your Seven will handle, regardless of frame geometry. | ||
Fit to you: First, choose your fit profile — Standard Fit, Endurance Fit, and Aero Fit. Then, choose from our 12 Rider Ready sizes. So many options for optimization. We have yet to have a rider not find their ideal fit. |
