Frame Details

This information overrides any photographs or text at odds with the following.

Frame Element Specifications
Wheel & tire clearance
  • Optimal size: 700c x 40 mm knobby
  • Maximum size: 700c x 43 mm knobby
This bike is not designed for use with 650b wheel systems.
Brake housing routing External: Zip tie guides for optimal performance, smooth front-end handling, ease of maintenance, low maintenance, and light weight.
Shifter routing Rear derailleur only: Either SRAM AXS, or cable stops for cable-actuated shifting.
Derailleur hanger Integrated, single piece. Not replaceable or disposable. Seven's titanium derailleur hangers are the toughest in the industry. We've never had one break. Our new generation of thru-axle dropouts has yet to see a hanger damaged beyond bike shop service. We have no need for fragile replaceable hangers. Neither will you.
Hub spacing & details Thruaxle: Hex head 6 mm, hub specifications 142 x 12 mm, total length 163 mm, 1.5 thread pitch, torque 12.0 Nm.
Brake caliper mountNative flat mount for 140 mm rotor. Bike comes with 160 mm adapter.
Bottom bracket shell T47, threaded, 68 mm length
Chainring sizeDrivetrain designed specifically for 42t chainring, standard spacing. The frame will not fit larger chainrings. This frame is not compatible with 2x chainrings or a front derailleur.
Head tube diameter 44 mm, popular standard, constant diameter
Seat post diameter 27.2 mm
Seat tube diameter Outside diameter: 34.9 mm (1.375")
Seat post retention system Rear slot with external seat top binder clamp.
Water bottle mounts Three: one on seat tube, one on top of down tube, and one under the down tube.

Seat tube mount fits small bottle only. Other two bottle mounts fit large ~28-ounce bottles.

Location is not size specific nor needed due to the FlowState seat tube design.

Other options and mounts None
Elements not included
  • No fender mounts; not possible on with FlowState rear triangle.
  • No pump peg
  • No chain hanger

Rider weight limit recommendations

On the Rider Ready frameset geometry pages, we include recommended weight ranges for optimal ride performance.

Seven's Rider Ready designs have size-specific tubesets. That allows us to better match the optimal rider weight to the actual size of the bike. Seven's tubeset tailoring techniques include using numerous tube diameters and many butting profiles as frame sizes change.

Seven's rider weight limit recommendation is intended for optimal ride performance. If you, your gear, your hydration system, your saddle bag, etc., combined weigh more than recommended, the bike's performance will be hindered. However, in nearly any situation, the bike will still handle and perform better than any stock bike.

Our frame weight limit is for the frame alone. Not all the components we've chosen for this build have a weight limit rating as high as our frames. Check each manufacturer's specifications for safety recommendations and warranty.

Tubeset design and aesthetics

The Rider Ready designs for the MantaRay have size-specific tubesets. Therefore, it is difficult to provide generalized tube specifications beyond the following.

  • FlowState rear triangle: Dropped seat stays for 400% enhancement of smoothness, flow, and vertical compliance.
  • Dual Diameter Chainstays:
    • Drive side: 1" oversized for maximum stiffness
    • Nondrive side: 7/8" for improved tire clearance, chainring, and the shortest stays possible.
    • Profile: Inline, s-bend
    • Symmetry: Asymmetric
    • Dropout interface: Inboard + outboard scallops
  • Compact Chassis: Seven's unique double-triangle drivetrain with the bottom bracket truss and FlowState rear triangle provides the stiffest possible drivetrain chassis.
  • Seat stays:
    • Diameter: Size-specific
    • Profile: Moto, 3D s-bend for maximum smoothness
    • Symmetry: Seven's proprietary Awesommetric design
    • Dropout interface: Inboard and outboard scallops
  • Rear triangle symmetry: Seven's unique Awesommetric rear triangle design consists of asymmetric seat stays, chainstays, and dropouts.
  • Head tube: Constant diameter, eccentrically butted to save weight while maintaining stiffness and durability.
Seven's sl disc dropout
Seven's custom-designed Asymmetric dropout. CNC machined. The stiffest dropout made. The toughest integrated hanger ever. Shown with our XX brake mount.

Frameset Compatibility

This information is correct for this specific frameset model only and is not necessarily true for Seven's other offerings.

Fork limitations: The only forks Seven certifies for this bike are Seven branded or the specific fork we specified for this design. For safety, no other fork should be used. Using any other fork voids the frame warranty and is not endorsed by Seven.

Do not modify this fork in any way. Do not add anything to this fork. This is a high-performance product.

Motor assist: Not compatible with any motor assist systems. Warranty is void if a motor assist system is employed.

Indoor trainer: Seven's warranty is valid with all indoor trainer systems.
