What we mean by "travel bike"
Many ways exist to travel with your bike //// air travel. Seven's preferred method is to use the BTC coupler system. To understand all of the details about why this system is best, read link ////////////
Why coupled //////
In summary, here are a few of the primary benefits of the coupled travel bike over other performance bike travel options.
Seven's /////// compared to a standard bike in a full size case
//////
- No cost per trip. No trip specific cost incurrent.
- Best value per dollar or per mile flown.
- Fits anywhere. Taxi
- Theft
Seven BTC////// compared to other "two-piece" bikes
xxxxxxx is a catchall term for frames that can be split into two parts and that fit into about a 26" square case.
- Proven technology. Seven has built thousands of coupled bikes over the past two-plus decades. We have never had a single joint break, fail, get damaged, or cause any problem of any kind.
- Case size: Some breakaway style bikes cannot fit into 26" cases. One of the more popular requires a 31" x 27" case. This is a problem //////////////
- Weight is identical compared with other in-tube coupler sytems.
Why Seven's ///////
reasons //////
- Applied Experience, More experience: thousands of coupled travel bikes.
- Coulpled is best, redundant?
- Tough and impervious: Titanium
- Lots of proprietary tricks we've learned
- We travel. more than 20 years on multiple continents. we have about a dozen travle bieks between us all. Seveneers
- Designed for your riding interests: all models. We offer nearly every bike category and model in travel versions designed for our coupler system.
- Travel optimized: A travel bike isn't just a regular bike with couplers popped in. Nearly every element of the frame and parts kit should take travel into account.
- xxxxxxx Made in the USA. Massachusetts
Which models are available as travel bikes?
Nearly every model is available with our coupler system — gravel, road, mountain, bikepacking, plus-tire bikes and everything in between. We build titanium and our carbon-titanium models with couplers, too. The simpler question to answer is which models are not available with couplers:
Models NOT available with couplers:
- Dual-suspension bikes: Due to the nature of our suspension system and the standard case size, we do not offer our suspension bikes with couplers.
Models that are challenging to make easy coupled travel bikes:
- Fat bikes with 4" or wider tires. It is impossible to get the wide rims, big tires, and wide rear axle to fit into one standard 26" travel case. You'll have to travel with two cases. It may be worthwhile because a travel fat bike is the most versatile travel companion and can ride on any unknown terrain.
Prices starts at about $8,700

Footnotes:
- Standard performance: The performance that Seven's typical bike in this riding category has. In general, 100% is our ideal performance. If we've decreased a percentage, it means, for this specific model with these specific features, options, and upgrades, we believe the change provides a benefit. The same is true when we increase a percentage. Small changes can make a big difference in performance — good or bad.
- Sustained climbing: Long climbs, usually seated. A lighter more lively frame makes long climbs quicker.
- Punchy climbs are short ascents that you're probably standing while pedalling for a good portion of the climb. A stiffer tubeset benefits this kind of climb.
- High-frequency vibration damping: xxxxxxxx
- Body English is how your movement on the bike affects the bike's handling, feel, and control. The more amenable your bike is to body English, the more control you have in tight situations; twisty switchbacks, tight corners, and tricky trails.
- Tracking: xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx
- Big hit absorption: Seat stays with Flow[14] absorb big bumps and obstacles better. and help you maintain control in those situations. Rocks, roots, stepups, broken pavement. The larger the obstacle, the more benefit you feel.
- Tire traction: xxxxxxxxx
- Flow: This term encompasses all of positive aspects of a smoother ride. You flow over rock, roots, broken pavement. You can use body English more actively. You have improved tire traction. More impactcuflly.
- Touring & bikepacking: Stiffer the seat stays mean better bike will handle when loaded with gear. Generally, Seven considers the tipping point from performance riding to ultralight touring or bikepacking to be at about 13 lbs. front & rear. Loaded touring or bikepacking is at around 25+ lbs.
Opposing Forces: Optimization of ride characteristics requires a series of tradeoffs. Sometimes perceived and sometime real. These attributes are determined by tubeset design.
Tubeset design determines the stiffness and smoothness of these attributes
Acceleration & Punchy Climb Capability is increased by 5% through enhanced drivetrain stiffness.
Descending Confidence & Cornering Control is enhanced by 5% through an increase in front end torsion control.
Sustained Ascents, Tire Traction, & Comfort is enhanced by 20% by maximizing smoothness, flow, & vertical compliance.
Rider Fit Options
We offer two distinct fit profiles in 16 sizes each.
Standard Fit: Neutral fit position for gravel riding. Our most popular geometry works well for the majority of riders. Similar to the industry's common gravel fit. Standard Fit geometry details page for all 16 sizes.
Endurance Fit: Slightly more upright and shorter than our standard gravel position. This can be better for exploring unknown territory. Better for long rides where comfort is as important as performance. For any given frame size:
- The front end height and handlebar position is about 3.0 cm higher.
- The reach from saddle to handlebar is about 1 cm shorter.
