Seven on the Ventoux

Seven on the Ventoux

One of the great joys of having so many bikes out in the world is that people are constantly doing awesome and amazing things on them. Here we have Larry conquering one of the legendary climbs of cycling history on his Axiom SL, a product of our long collaboration with River City Bicycles in Portland, OR.

Larry Says:

Bastille Day, Sunday July 14, 2013.  The Seven conquers the Ventoux.  This was taken about six hours before Stage 14 rolled through Bedoin and finished on top of the Ventoux.

We built this fine Super Hero Blue Axiom SL with our friends at Helen’s of Santa Monica.

Folks at Seven,

Just wanted to send a picture of the completed bike.  It was a great experience working  with Neil on the design of this bike and I wanted to thank him for his input on the color combination which turned out fantastic.  The bike has exceeded my expectations for form, fit, and quality.  The paint job is a work of art and I wanted to thank Mike, Stef, Dan and Staci for their effort in building not only an awesome ride but a work of art. The picture was taken this week on the commute home in Manhattan Beach California.  I am sure Neil is familiar with this view.

Thanks again,

Paul

More Than We Could Ever Imagine

Aaron Ritter and his Alaris in front of the White House

Sometimes we get a note that just stops us in our tracks, and we all take a moment to let the humble admiration set in. There may even be some goose bumps. When we got the note below from Aaron, there was a moment of quiet, followed by a hushed, “wow.”

What some riders accomplish on a Seven never ceases to amaze us. Thank you Aaron, for being an inspiration.

Aaron Ritter and his Alaris

Hello everyone at Seven Cycles,

My name is Aaron Ritter.  I am active duty Navy; stationed in Virginia Beach, VA.  Last year in February I was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident, resulting in the loss of my right leg below the knee and a few other injuries with it.  After transferring to Bethesda Naval Hospital I discovered the Ride 2 Recovery program and began cycling.

Now, 19 months post injury, I am embarking upon a 2 day, 155 mile bike ride in support of the Wounded Explosive Ordnance Disposal Warrior Foundation.  The event is called the Undefeated Ride.   I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that this will not only be my first, formal cycling event; I will be cycling the entire distance on one of your bikes.

Thank you for such a great riding platform!!!
Aaron Ritter

Seven at Louisville Ironman

David Bedard and Axiom tri bike at Louisville Ironman 2013

This is Seven rider David Bedard rocking his Axiom titanium tri bike at Louisville IRONMAN 2013.

David says:

After a proper fitting at Landry’s and many months of training I successfully raced the bike at the Louisville IRONMAN in late August (averaging roughly 19.5MPH). The temperature was 91 degrees on that Sunday and brutally hot on the run. During the last 10 miles of the run all I could think about was selling the bike and never thinking about another IRONMAN event. Oddly, on Tuesday when we were returning from Louisville I asked my wife which IRONMAN I should do next – she laughed.

I had more thumbs up over my SEVEN than the entire sea of carbon.

Leila’s Axiom SL

Leila racing her Axiom SL

We love getting pictures like this one from Leila K in Austin, TX. We built this Axiom SL for her with our friends from Mellow Johnny’s.

As a custom bike, the Axiom SL is one of the most versatile we make. Some riders build it for group riding, some to tour, some to commute, and others, like Leila, to race. With subtle geometry changes, an infinite number of tube choices, and then all the custom options you could want, arriving at that perfect bike is easy. Leila chose a custom decal for hers, something to set off her MJ’s team kit.

She says:

I’ve been riding it (and racing  it) for about 3-weeks now and I LOVE it! Being an odd size I’ve always  settled for whatever frame fit best. This bike fits perfectly. I’ve now raced it twice and it handles beautifully and is very responsive. I’ve already gotten so many complements on the bike. Thank you so much!
