"Too much bike": This model is more than you need for this type of riding. The bike rides great within these categories, but if this is your primary use, we have more appropriate models to choose from.

Performance Profile
Optimized for speed, leaning toward long rides. This gravel bike shines at higher speeds and where bike control is paramount — on challenging descents and loose surfaces.
Enhanced stiffness: Seven's straight gauge tubeset means the front end is slightly stiffer than average. This enhances some aspects of climbing speed and descending control.
Better for riders above Seven's weight range for a given Rider Ready frame size.[15] More capable with loaded touring & bikepacking.[16]

Standard performance: The performance that Seven's typical bike in this riding category has. In general, 100% is our ideal performance. If we've decreased a percentage, it means for this specific model with these specific features, options, and upgrades, we believe the change provides a benefit. The same is true when we increase a percentage. Percentages are estimates.
Sustained climbing: Long climbs, usually seated. A lighter, more lively frame can make long ascents quicker.
Punchy climbs are short hills that you're probably standing while pedaling for a good portion of the climb. A stiffer tubeset can benefit this kind of climb.
High-frequency vibration damping: Vibration from rough pavement, like chip seal, or any kind of small repeated defects. Titanium does a good job of damping those vibrations, and the way Seven applies the material doubles down on the damping. There is no smoother ride on chip seal than a titanium Seven.
Body English is how your movement on the bike affects the bike's handling, feel, and control. The more amenable your bike is to body English, the more control you have in tight situations: twisty switchbacks, tight corners, and tricky trails.
Tracking: The more the wheels stay in plane with each other, the more accurate the bike's tracking. Once the bike is going in a direction, it wants to stay in that direction. Conversely, rigid tracking can make it difficult to use body English to control the bike and make sudden direction changes.
Big hit absorption: Seat stays with Flow[14] absorb big bumps and obstacles — rocks, roots, step-ups, broken pavement — better while helping maintain control in those situations. The larger the obstacle, the more benefit you feel.
Tire traction comes from a number of sources. A well-designed frame that has Flow[14] can have a large influence on front and rear tire traction. More traction means more control and more speed. More Flow, more traction.
Flow: This term encompasses all the positive aspects of a smoother ride. You flow over rocks, roots, broken pavement. You can use body English more actively. You have improved tire traction. Flow is one of the most important and impactful aspects of a performance gravel bike.
Rider weight range: Each Rider Ready frame size has a distinct ideal rider weight range. (The geometry charts include this data.) If you are 10% above this range, we recommend checking off the +10% marker for the third performance measure (that includes smoothness). If you're 10% below the weight range, we recommend checking off the -10% marker. The frame size weight range includes what we call "carry weight." This includes everything you carry with you on a ride: hydration, phone, GPS, tools, etc.
Touring & bikepacking: Stiffer seat stays mean better bike handling when loaded with gear. Generally, Seven considers the tipping point from performance riding to ultralight touring or bikepacking to be at about 13 lbs. of additional gear front & rear. Loaded touring or bikepacking is up to 45 lbs. of equipment.
Handling Scale
When gravel riding tires (~40 mm tires) are installed, the bike's handling is neutral and balanced. When set up for allroads riding (with ~32 mm tires), The bike handles more nimbly but is still in the neutral handling range. An excellent handling geometry for a wide range of riding surfaces.
