Lion of Spring Limited Edition: Parts Kits

Parts Kit Overview

Here are the parts options available for the Lion of Spring limited edition.

To choose one and place your order, follow the steps as presented on the Lion page.

The ideal kit

We start with one of our favorite road gruppos: Shimano Ultegra 8170. It's perfectly suited to the Lion of Spring:

  • The lightest gruppo at this price point: It's a few hundred grams lighter than other popular electronic kits at this price. Get up those hills faster.
  • Best hydraulic brakes: The best in the business. The faster you can stop, the faster you can go.
  • Lowest maintenance: Di2 electronics; keep the battery charged, and you'll not have any upkeep or adjusting to do. Set it and forget it.
  • Handles the harshest weather: The Di2 battery and hidden and sealed.
  • Most reliable: There is no electronic kit with a longer or better track record.
  • Easy to find replacement components: Shimano is ubiquitous. Get in a crash? No problem; any decent bike store will have easy access to replacement parts.
  • Never miss a shift: Shimano's legendary crisp shifting means you won't drop a gear in the final 200 meters of that town line sprint.

This is a complete Ultegra kit. There are no "house brand" parts, no offbrand parts. Therefore, compatibility, optimal function, and full value are assured.

Notes:

  1. Wheelset: Tubeless ready with rim strips and valve stems.
  2. Bottom bracket: The only non-Shimano part of the gruppo is the T47 bottom bracket. Shimano does not offer a T47-compatible BB. We chose the T47 system for this bike because the shell is 230% stiffer than our standard BSA threaded shell. The bottom bracket is the anchor of the frame. Start with a stiff shell to make a stiff drivetrain. Read more about what makes our LOSO tubeset unique.
