1000km on the Seven RedSky S

We delivered Woody’s RedSky S in February of this year, via Adam and Saj at Get-a-Grip in Chicago. We received this photo, just this morning, which suggests Woody and his Seven are getting along pretty well.

Rode my Seven for the Great Lakes Randonneurs 1000k last weekend.  We were allowed 75 hours, completed it in 65.  Had decent weather, just one huge storm on Day 1 to contend with.  Great roads, terrific variety of terrain, and great support from the GLR volunteers.  My bike handled great.  Bombing hills, cornering with speed, bouncing across gravel sections—all good.

Ted’s Axiom SL

This is Ted’s matte black and bare Ti Axiom SL with disc brakes and Mavic Ksyrium AllRoad Disc wheels. We built this one with the good folks at Get-a-Grip Cycles in Chicago.

Brian’s 622 SLX

This is Brian’s new 622 SLX, built with our good friends at Get-a-Grip Cycles in Chicago. Brian was going for a very refined look, so he painted the 622’s carbon tubes Platinum to match the titanium lugs and added a Ti post and stem. The result is pretty stunning, we think. Some kind words from Brian also, below.

Dear Seven,

…………….it is EXTRORDINARY.  

It really is a work of art.

Thanks for putting up with me — I was stressed about dropping so much dough on a bike, but seeing the end product I have absolutely NO regrets.  

Looking forward to the inaugural ride tomorrow morning (I’m a bit giddy at the thought of it!).  So far I’ve just spun around the block to test the saddle and eTap which were also both amazing.

Seven in Chicago Magazine

We were fortunate to be featured in Chicago Magazine this last month, with a little help from our friends at Get-a-Grip Cycles. With a two-page spread of our (actually rider Shawn Briggs’) 622 SLX, the piece does a nice job of quickly dissecting what goes into a bike customized to the nines. Many potential riders can by put off by a price tag, without considering all the components that go into it, and the long term value you get from designing and building the right thing the first time.

Seven and Get-a-Grip at the Wassau 24

Our good friends from Get-a-Grip in Chicago recently raced the Wassau24. See the picture below of Adam Kaplan with Seven Sola SL.

Adam said, “The Wausau24 was a great event. Very well organized. The course was 11 miles of twisty, rooty, and rocky singletrack mixed with some nice gradual fire road climbs and fast descents. I started off first for our team and had laps at approximately 10am, 4pm, 8pm, 2am and 6am. The first two laps were great, no real fatigue. The third lap I flatted 2 minutes in and had to be careful. The fourth lap was amazing in the dead of night. The last lap was in the rising sun and misty conditions. Our team, Get a Grip Cycles, was able to clinch a podium spot for third place. Not bad for a bunch of 40+ year old men.”
